FEATURED ITEM: #188 1953 Chevy Corvette- A message from the owner: The fact that it’s the 188th Corvette ever made is only one of numerous historical reasons that make this car special. Chevrolet only made 300 in the inaugural year but this one has a documented history, with an emphasis on ‘story’.These are great accolades but what really makes this car’s provenance is another landmark in the history of this Blue Flame beauty. You see, the Corvette turned 25 in 1978 for the Silver Anniversary edition. The then current owner was approached by General Motors to feature this very car in the National Corvette Brochure. The iconic history of the Corvette was memorialized on the front cover of the dealership brochure and the National Corvette Poster.The short story is it’s one of 255 known survivors from the 1953 inaugural model. This car’s story is more than that. Sure, it’s had five owners, including Kenn Carlson. Kenn bought the car circa 2008 as an unfinished restoration. He has restored dozens of C1, C2 and C3 Vettes to NCRS Top Flight specifications over the decades; but this one had attributes and history that made it unique.
