This auction will be the contents of the machine and metal shop of one of Reno's most famouspremier craftsman, Al Pecetti. Alvin (Al) Pecetti (1923-2004) was a third generation Nevadan and a prominent member of Reno’s community of fine craftsman. His 60-year career began in the silver shops of Jack Starr and Hoot Newman, before establishing his own custom shop in the late 1940’s. Filigree work in yellow, green and rose gold became Pecetti’s trademark style with buckles featuring highly detailed figures, struck from his own handmade dies. Pecetti encouraged and influenced generations of craftsmen including Mark Drain, Scott Hardy, Carl Norris and the late Dan Murray. He also collaborated on projects with Al Tietjen, Bill Maloy, Luis Ortega and Les Garcia. Calgary’s Cowboy Festival honored Al in 1996 as one of the legends of Western Craft and in 1998 he became a founding member of the prestigious Traditional Cowboy Artists Association at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City. (Ref. www.highnoon.com) This shop is located at 2250 Foothill Road and Thomas Creek on the front edge of Pecetti Ranch. We are located about half a mile south down Thomas Creek from the Dianda Estate where our other auction is taking place. Since all items were similar on both estates, we backed these auctions up to each other. The shop is filled with various tools and machines for metal working. Milling machines, lathes, grinders, and tons of tools. All items to be sold "As Is, Where Is". All lots will include a 20% buyers premium and sales tax on top of the final closing price. Auction will start Friday January 10th with closing beginning at 4:00pm on Sunday January 26th. You will need to register an account with EstateSales.org and place either a credit or debit card on your account to actively bid on items in this auction. Preview for this auction will take place Friday January 17th and Saturday January 18th from 10:00am to 2:00pm at 2250 Foothill Road. Given the large size and uniqueness of some of the machines in the shop, we recommend that you definitely attend either preview day to view items. There are going to be some serious logistics involved with removing these machines from the property where they reside. We want bidders to be familiar with the layout and setting in the shop. We are not delivering or moving these items. Buyers will be responsible for getting equipment out of this shop. We will be scheduling regular pickup days for the auction but understand some of the larger items will take some careful planning to get out so we will work with buyers to schedule additional pickupsaccordingly. The shop has a large horseshoe shaped driveway right out a set of large double doors. If you are bidding from outside the Reno area, we are definitely willing to work with buyers that may need to schedule transportation. We will have time to work with buyers as we do not have to vacate the property immediately. If you have questions about any items you see in this auction, we ask that you call us directly to discuss.
