Starting early in life as a young girl loving the illustrative technique of paintings she found confidence to dream and imagine a wider world. Spending much of her time with her aunt she developed her skills and decided to pursue her passion full-time. She spent many years in the commercial arts world, entering and winning awards in various competitions. She learned her work spoke for itself and so allowed for it to stand on its own without a competive spirit. Her imagination grew. She wanted to dive into a more lively art market, so moved to Santa Fe NM in 1989. This is where she would reach a personal life long goal of bronze work. Val not only painted with a colorful pallete she also filled her home with beauty and substance. You'll find gorgeous antiques, collectables and precious decor large and small. Along with her personal art pieces. Some pieces she never shared with the outside world. She shared her emotional journey of loss and joy.
